As a shoe addict I have boxes of semi-worn soles in my basement. So this summer I have decided to try to revamp, modify, or reuse some of my not so favorite pairs! I was hesitant to try this because I am not a great artist but here goes nothing!
Today I took some oddly colored blue converse that I never wear and gave them a new meaning to life! While I didn't take pictures during the process I can show you the final product.
1. First I took the shoes and covered all the rubbery areas with painters tape.
2. Then I mixed Mod Podge and white glitter and applied a few coats
3. Then I did a layer of just Mod Podge and let them dry!
I was unhappy with the result because I knew that just because they were glittery didn't mean I would wear them. So as a huge ballet flat lover I turned them into slip ons and added cute ribbon laces!
4. I made them into slip ons by super glueing a piece of elastic within the shoe under the tongue of the shoes.
5. Just needed to add ribbon laces (which is now possible because the elastic takes most of the force!)
Ta-da! First project done :) Next time I will try to take more pictures! All in all, this was super easy, and like I said, I am so not good with crafts!
